Best of the Best in Workout Music: The 2009 Hip Hop Edition

Best of the Best in Workout Music: The 2009 Hip Hop EditionThe songs are the best in Hip Hop from workout playlists made in 2009. Hip Hop is my favorite type of music to run to, so it's no surprise that in 2009, I made 21 Hip Hop Music Workout Playlists! It was crushing that I almost lost all these playlists with a database meltdown in December ('09), and the demise of IMeem.com which hosted all the actual playlists.

Oh well, we're still getting out archives back together, and that helped me put together my favorite songs from the hip hop playlists that were made last year. Some songs I chose because the beats were stuck in my head, like Hold the Line (Major Lazer) and Move if You Wanna (Mims); some songs because the lyrics were funny, like Lookin Boy (Hotstylz); and some songs because the the lyrics were dope, like On to the Next One (Jay-Z).

It was hard to get the number of songs from 21 playlists (12 songs each = 252 songs) down to a manageable number, so I'm sure I left off some bangers - but the good thing is that you can head to the archives, select ANY playlist, and probably discover something fun and new to you. Enjoy - I had a nice run with these songs playing yesterday.
